Scorned Husband Has A Shootout With Airport Police Waiting For Cheating Wife
The Tulsa Police Department has identified the man that shot an officer during a gun battle in the parking garage at the Tulsa International Airport as 49-year-old Joseph Watson.
According to investigators, Watson claimed that he believed his wife had cheated on him while she was away in Houston so he had threatened to kill her when she landed in Tulsa.
The wife contacted Houston police before her flight then they contacted Tulsa police to alert them as well.
After the wife landed, police escorted her from the airport to the car where her brother was waiting for her, at that point the husband opened fire at the car from across the garage.
The wife and her brother quickly departed.
Police chased the suspect into the parking garage where a shoot-out ensued.
A woman was injured during the exchange when her van got caught in the crossfire and a bullet came through the side of the vehicle. She is expected to make a full recovery.
One officer, who was shot in the chest, was thankfully wearing a bullet-proof vest, is expected to fully recover.
During the incident, the suspect was shot in the foot. He is currently in custody at the hospital where he is expected to fully recover.
The airport was temporarily shut down during the incident but is now back open.
Why would anyone be suspicious of this fine-looking upstanding citizen?
