Florida Woman Rescued From Submerged Car After Hurricane Ian
While the state of Florida is reeling from devastation, there’s at least one woman who owes her life to the brave firefighter who rescued her from her submerged vehicle.
As Hurricane Ian ravaged Naples Wednesday, one woman thought it would be ok to drive, until she got swept up in the current. Remarkable footage shows a firefighter wading through chest-deep water and smashing the rear passenger window — as the water continues rising over the hood of her car.
The woman was unable to open her car door, so the firefighter busted through her rear passenger window and dragged her to safety.
Collier County officials had announced half the streets in Naples were impassable due to high water … it’s unclear whether the woman hadn’t gotten the warning, or she just thought she was ok to drive.
