Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News as an on-air contributor, and the network says she will begin appearing across its programming on November 1.
The announcement comes after Leavitt left her position as White House press secretary in August. Her next role keeps her in the political conversation, but from a media platform rather than the White House briefing room.
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott pointed to Leavitt’s experience on the presidential campaign trail and inside the White House. She said that background would help Leavitt offer what she described as “authentic and sharp insight” across the network’s platforms.
Leavitt’s move was also highlighted by Fox News in a post announcing that she would provide commentary throughout the network’s lineup. Viewers will start seeing her in the new position when her Fox News job begins November 1.

Leavitt is starting a new chapter on air
Leavitt said she was grateful to become an official member of the Fox News Media team. She plans to draw on her time as press secretary while bringing the “energy and candor” she associated with that job to Fox’s audience.
That statement makes clear that Leavitt is not stepping away from public life. She is moving from government communications into television commentary, with her White House experience at the center of the role.
Her White House exit was driven by family
President Trump announced Leavitt’s departure in August, saying she wanted to devote more time to her two young children. Leavitt gave birth to her second child, a daughter, in May.
Leavitt also made history during her time in the administration. She was the youngest person to serve as White House press secretary, taking the position at age 27 last year.
She described the combination of motherhood and one of the country’s most demanding political jobs as deeply rewarding but difficult. After returning to the White House following her daughter’s birth, she said she no longer believed she could give her children the attention they deserved while meeting the constant demands of the press secretary position.
She plans to remain active in politics
Leaving the White House did not mean ending her political work. Leavitt said Trump asked her to continue serving as a top adviser from outside the administration.
She also said she would remain a vocal supporter of the MAGA movement and the Republican Party. That political experience, along with her time in the White House, is now the foundation Fox News will bring to its viewers through her new contributor role.
For Leavitt, the change means leaving the briefing room while continuing to speak to a national audience. For Fox News, it adds a former White House press secretary to its on-air lineup beginning November 1.
